They are both passionate about Provence and the region\u2019s gastronomy and started their Alfagel adventure by acquiring <strong>the Maison de la Glace brand,<\/strong> a real local institution founded by Pierre Zappella in 1947.<br\/>In 2006 Alfagel set up its production laboratory at the MIN des Arnavaux in Marseille, the fruit and vegetable market for wholesalers, importers and local producers. A production tool to <strong>produce artisan ice creams and sorbets for the catering industry.<\/strong><br\/>Very quickly (2006), these entrepreneurs decided to focus on <strong>the regional supermarkets<\/strong> which were looking for quality artisan ice creams.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/alfagel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Histoire-Maison-de-la-Glace-Alfagel.png\" alt=\"History Maison de la Glace Alfagel\" title=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img src=\"https:\/\/alfagel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Lancement-PopFruit-PopPolo-nouvelles-glaces-Alfagel-2.png\" alt=\"Launch of PopFruit PopPolo new Alfagel 2 ice cream\" title=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<h2>2011 and 2013 <img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/alfagel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/barre-rs-mdg.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"3\"\/><\/h2>\n\n<h2>Range development<\/h2>\n\n<p>Driven by a desire to innovate and enhance the value of good products, Alfagel continued to develop with the creation of ice cream sticks. <strong>Ice-cream sticks that break away from industry standards,<\/strong> with an artisan approach that reflects Maison de la Glace&#8217;s manufacturing process.<br\/><br\/>Alfagel lacked the tools to mechanise this production, and met with Italian ice cream stick manufacturers, the Cazzaniga brothers, to pool their know-how. <strong>The Italian production of the first Pop Polo ice lollies <\/strong> began on the basis of the ingredients and recipes developed by Alfagel for its ice pops, commonly known as &#8220;yetis&#8221;.<br\/>This natural ice pop, with no artificial flavours or colours, made <a href=\"https:\/\/alfagel.com\/en\/our-brands\/pop-polo\/\">Pop Polo<\/a> a local and even national reference. The success of the Pop Polo ice pops was the talk of the town.<br\/><br\/>In 2013, during the Marseille European Capital of Culture events, Alfagel was authorised to place two electric three-wheeler bikes in the Vieux Port.
